Medicare Process

We're here to assist you in navigating the Medicare process for psychological services. Here's how we can help:

  1. Understanding Medicare: Medicare offers a rebate for psychological services, requiring a referral from your GP.
  2. Referral Assistance: We'll guide you in obtaining a referral and a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, which is necessary for Medicare rebates.
  3. Medicare Rebates: As a registered psychologist, you're entitled to a Medicare rebate of $92.90 per session for up to 10 sessions annually.
  4. Out-of-Pocket Costs: We'll discuss any potential gap fees if our charges exceed the Medicare rebate.
  5. Bulk Billing: Our practice is currently taking bulk billing clients in this case there are gap fees. Sessions are covered entirely by medicare.
  6. Private Insurance: We advise checking with your insurer regarding coverage of any gap fees.
  7. Session Bookings: We'll help you book your sessions or you can book online.
  8. Claiming Medicare Benefits: We'll guide you on claiming Medicare benefits, either through our direct billing or by your claiming back the rebate through Medicare's services.

Your mental health is our priority, and we're committed to making this process as smooth as possible for you.
